At the risk of making myself seem older than I am, when I was that age, life was too full of work, study, and to a lesser extent, hobbies.
From memory, most of the limited time that remained after all of that, was spent in trying to persuade young ladies to remove their clothes. Usually unsuccesfully, I might add.!!! However, I digress.

I knew, as everyone of my generation did, that if one wanted anything, the only option was to work hard, study hard, and to give these two priority over everything else, and eventually, success, and possibly prosperity, would be earned.

Nowadays, most people want EVERYTHING, and want it NOW.

Given that attitude,it is hardly surprising that the young are discontented when suddenly they find that all that they desire doesnt just appear out of the sky but has to come from WORK.
To many, one of the worst "four letter" words.
